Assistant Principal

Dear Rice ISD family,

I am incredibly honored to serve as assistant principal for Rice Intermediate/Middle School. I can’t wait to collaborate with you all on our educational journey this year.

I’m originally from Mississippi, but I’ve lived in Texas for almost 20 years. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Sam Houston State University and my master’s degree from Lamar University. I’m currently working on my doctorate from Texas A&M University-Texarkana. I’ve spent my entire professional life serving the students of Texas, and my heart tells me that our students are some of the best around!

My educational philosophy can be summed up in two words–hard work! My favorite quote ever is by author of Atomic Habits James Clear when he wrote,  “We don’t rise to the level of our goals. We fall to the level of our actions.” I love spending my days helping others realize that their dreams really can become reality through hard work and dedication. I strive to help them see that productive struggle is a good thing, and it helps us grow a little every single day.

I am looking forward to an amazing year where we will partner together to help your children be the very best versions of themselves. I sincerely promise to always have their best interests at heart, and it is my hope that we make many wonderful memories and celebrate many milestones together along the way.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if I can be of assistance in any way. We are going to have an amazing year!
