The Bulldogs track and field teams delivered a powerhouse performance this week, securing a long list of podium finishes and qualifying several standout athletes for the Area track meet. From lightning-fast sprints to gravity-defying jumps, the Bulldogs proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
Boys Track: Speed and Precision
The boys' side was highlighted by Brody Lawhon, who put on a clinic in versatility. Lawhon claimed 1st Place in the 200 Meter Dash and followed it up with a 2nd Place finish in the 100 Meter Dash. He also proved his worth in the field and team events, taking 4th in the Triple Jump and anchoring the 4x100 Relay to a 4th Place finish.
Reece Ellington was another massive contributor, securing 2nd Place in both the Triple Jump and the 110 Hurdles, showcasing incredible technical skill.
The 4x100 Relay team—consisting of Brody Lawhon, Andy Diaz, Jose Chavez, and Victor Diaz—battled for a 4th Place finish to advance. Individually, Andy Diaz took 4th in the 300 Meter Hurdles, while Jose Chavez soared to 4th in the Long Jump.
Girls Track: Varsity Excellence
The Lady Bulldogs were led by a stellar performance from Wenni Wharton. Wharton dominated the sand pit with a 1st Place finish in the Long Jump. She continued her scoring spree on the track, taking 2nd Place in the 200 Meter Dash and 3rd Place in the 400 Meter Dash.
Madeline Vento showed her grit in the hurdles, earning silver in the 300H (2nd Place) and bronze in the 100H (3rd Place). Meanwhile, Nahima Esquivel rounded out the jumping events with a strong 3rd Place finish in the Triple Jump.
