The Rice High School Cheerleaders attended the NCA camp at Tarleton State University this past summer, earning blue superior ribbons in the camp situational chant, band chant, and game day cheer categories.
Four cheerleaders were nominated for All-American tryouts: Emma Thompson for her outstanding leadership, Chloe Perry for her sharp, precise motions during cheers and dances, and Amy Aviles and Ashley Hernandez for their exceptional jump skills and technique.
Ashley Hernandez achieved the top honor of being named an All-American!! A very big congratulations to her and all of our talented nominees!
Our amazing mascot, Roxy the Bulldog, also brought home the Mascot Unity Award, which recognizes mascots who demonstrate exceptional teamwork and unity with their squad and throughout the camp.
During camp, the team learned exciting new skills, including fresh cheers, chants, and stunts they can’t wait to debut under the Friday Night Lights.
We look forward to seeing everyone during the 2025–2026 football season!
